ALAN KENT HAGER

June 11, 1952 — December 25, 2008

Alan Kent Hager, 56, of Hoover, Alabama, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2008, at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. He was born in Kansas City, MO on June 11, 1952, the son of Raymond J. Hager and Dolores (Hodges) Hager of Jefferson City, MO. He was united in marriage to Saundra Lea Jarrett on May 22, 1982, in Vista, MO. Alan was a graduate of Helias High School. He began his career as a computer programmer for the Department of Social Services, in Jefferson City, Mo. Alan currently worked for Regions Financial Corporation as a Host Integration Manager in Birmingham, Al. His life and jobs were full of excitement and his knowledge and experience took him to several different locations in the United States. He worked for a number of years in Melbourne and Adelaide, Australia. He, Sandy and Lauren were especially happy while in Australia. Alan was a loving husband and father; he doted on his wife and daughter. He was a gifted musician and enjoyed spending time playing guitar and flat-picking. He played with numerous friends in Birmingham and Montgomery, Alabama area. He had many varied interests and hobbies. He is survived by his wife Sandy; one daughter, Lauren E. Hager, Birmingham; his mother, Dolores Hager, Jefferson City; two sisters, Linda R. Pawliczak and husband, Daniel, St. Martins; and Cheryl M. Bender and husband Bruce, Columbia. Other survivors include three nieces, Karen (Pawliczak) Keeney and husband Chris; Jillian Pawliczak; Kaitlin Bender; four nephews, Christopher Pawliczak, wife Angela; Brett Bender; Cody and Aron Dawson. Alan was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Hager. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Edwin A Schmidt officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum. Memorial contributions are suggested to American Heart Association, 915 County Ridge Drive, Jefferson City, Mo 65109.
