Eulalia V. (Eula) Donehue Schepers, a beautiful and faithful soul was welcomed into heaven with her passing on Friday, January 27, 2017.

Eula was born on November 7, 1927, in Luystown, MO the sixth of ten children born to Peter and Anna (Nilges) Donehue.

She was united in marriage to Norbert B. (Shorty) Schepers on April 15, 1950 in Linn, MO who preceded her in death on August 4, 2002.

Eula received her teaching certificate from Warrensburg Teachers College, now UCM.

Her early career was social work in Salem, MO. She then taught school in Folk, MO. She was a homemaker until 1972 when she went to work at Immaculate Conception School in the cafeteria working her way up to the head cook position. She retired from Immaculate Conception in 1988 and began working at the Jefferson City Daycare as a teacher and nurturer to children. She retired from the Jefferson City Daycare in 1998.

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.

Never one to let grass grow under her feet, she began her volunteer work in earnest at the Vogelweid Learning Center at St. Peter School and the Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia. She was very passionate about helping our veterans and logged over 1000 volunteer hours at the VA Hospital. She was acknowledged with a President's Volunteer Service Award for her faithful volunteer work.

She was very involved in the American Legion Roscoe Enloe Post 5 Auxiliary serving as President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Chaplin on the local level and was an assistant to the President on the State level. She was also a member of the Eight and Forty Veterans Organization. She received the Four Chaplains award.

She was lovingly referred to as the "Queen Bee" by her four sons and eight daughters along with her three daughter-in-laws and six son-in-laws whom she loved as her own. This family was the creation of "two people falling in Love." As always, in birth order her surviving children are Patricia (Pat) and Bruce Dyball, Christina (Christie) Schepers, Rebecca (Becky) and Chris Schneider, Timothy (Tim) and Miriam Schepers, Roberta and Richard Schulte, Thomas (Tom) Schepers, Cynthia (Cindy) and Tom Record, Lisa and Peter Reynolds, Jacqueline (Jackie) and Jim Hickman, Jennifer Connell, Daniel (Dan) and Beverly Schepers, and Douglas Alan Schepers and Megan Culler. She is survived by 25 grandchildren, Amy, Christina, Ben, Brian, Nicholas, Joseph, Matt, Kim, Veronica, Eric, Stephanie, Garret, Katie, Abby, Mike, Christopher, Justin, Jayme, Jenna, Jessica, Megan, Sarah, Danielle, Emily and Nathan and 14 great-grandchildren.

Family was everything to Eula and she loved nothing better than getting together with all of them. She is also survived by one brother and his wife Don and Pat Donehue and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to Norbert, she was preceded in death by great-grandson Cole Nilges, her sisters Dorothy Vogel and Jeanette Luetkemeyer, and her brothers, Daniel Donehue, Lincoln Donehue, A.C. (Pete) Donehue, Patrick Donehue, Richard Donehue, and Bob Donehue.

Eula had the gift of making everyone feel as if they were accepted and loved unconditionally. She was the cornerstone and heart of her family. She will be held in all of the hearts of the lives she has impacted and the ones she helped to create.
