Melvin Valentine Rall, 97, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Heisinger Bluffs.
He was born November 7, 1920, in St. Louis, the son of the late Valentine Fred and Mamie Irene (Birkenbach) Rall.
Melvin was a United States Navy veteran and served during World War II.
He was a 1938 graduate of Roosevelt High School, St. Louis, Missouri and attended Washington University.
He was married on June 2, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri to Anna Catherine Kuturovac who passed away March 17, 1995.
Melvin began working for Westinghouse Inc., Jefferson City in 1972 and retired as Manager of Tool Engineering in 1984.
He was a member of the United States LST Association, the Missouri Amphibious Navy and the United States Navy Memorial, Washington, D.C.
He enjoyed reading, fishing, woodworking, traveling, and visiting family.
Survivors include three children, David (Mae) Rall, Jefferson City; Donna (Alan) Ellebrecht, Overland Park, Kansas; and Patricia (William) Van Alstine, Lafayette, Indiana; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Ellamay Rall, St. Louis, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna; and an infant son, Robert Alan Rall.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2018, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with Chaplain Jim Mueller officiating.
Entombment with military honors will be at Resurrection Mausoleum.
