June 10, 1923 — January 2, 2019

Julia Lisetta Johannesmeyer, 95, of Freeburg, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Adam's Street Place in Jefferson City where she had been a resident after a stroke 5 years ago.

Julia was born June 10, 1923, in Gascondy, Missouri, the daughter of the late Theodore and Julia Eliza (Picker) Klebba.

She was united in marriage on November 9, 1946, in Rich Fountain to Cletus “Pete” Johannesmeyer, who preceded her in death on December 18, 2004.

She served on various church committees, volunteered at school, and was a member of the Freeburg Chapter of the American Red Cross, for which she served as chairperson for the local blood drives for over 40 years.

Julia was a very fun loving person who always enjoyed telling or hearing a good joke. She loved to dance and often told her children “don't cry if I die on the dance floor – I died happy”. Julia was a caring, giving person who was often the first to offer help to anyone in need.
