Thomas Joseph Becker, Sr., 84, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2007, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.

He was born on Sept. 3, 1922, in Evansville, IN, the son of Henry and Mary Agnes Stahl Becker.

He attended St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Evansville.

He was married on April 30, 1942, to Alice Ruth Gass, who survives at Golden Living Center in Jefferson City.

Mr. Becker graduated from high school in Evansville in 1940 and served in the United States Army during World War II. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Sciences in 1951 from Evansville University. He worked as a Civil Service employee for the United States Government for thirty years until his retirement in 1980. He traveled extensively with his job both in the United States, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

He has been a resident of Jefferson City since 1989 and has resided at Oak Tree Villas.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Cathedral.

Other survivors include two sons, Thomas Joseph Becker, Jr., Jefferson City; and John Becker, Lewiston, ID; two daughters, Linda Crotinger, New Orleans, LA; and Cynthia Gregory, Burbank, CA, six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Bernard Becker, Booneville, IN; and Donald Becker, Evansville, IN; two sisters, Frances Burnett, Evansville, IN; and Julia Radwanski, Boulder City, NV; and a host of friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Patrick; two brothers, Henry Becker and George Becker; and two sisters, Marie Becker and Hildegard Becker.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2007, at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Evansville, IN.

Memorials are suggested to any American Indian fund.
